In partnership with the GCA, Windles host a Litho workshop at their site in Thame, Oxfordshire. This is a exciting workshop for GCA members only and places are limited so available on a first-come first-served basis.
Windles are stepping up their continued effort to support Publishers as their businesses grow, their team will be hosting a hands-on experience day to showcase Litho printing to those Publishers interested in transitioning to this method of greeting card production.
Emma-Louise Allen from Windles explains: Emerging Publishers often begin their Greeting Card journey by digitally printing their artworks to enable speed to market. However, as their brand begins to flourish, many business owners look to Litho printing for bulk production with the cost efficiencies it offers.
Windles take great pride in hand holding Publishers ‘on the cusp’ of this move so they fully understand the mechanics of litho printing from ‘sheet up’ to physical proof approval, not to mention educating them on finishes and machine packing options too!
‘Litho printing is tactile and very visual. It is our honour to welcome GCA Members to the factory, who will in fact be amongst the first in the industry to see our brand new KBA litho printing press – Lydia!’
Emma-Louise Allen, Windles
‘We intend to dispel the myths and remove the complexities that can put Publishers off exploring this manufacturing route sooner’.
Emma-Louise Allen, Windles
In advance of the day, signed up members are encouraged to send in a piece of artwork for us to impose onto our Flexisheet. They will then follow it on its path live through production with 200 FREE printed copies of their cards being made available for them to take home at the end of the day.
The factory is easily accessible being just a mile from the Haddenham & Thame Parkway train station or the M40 motorway. A shuttle service from the station will run on the day and we offer plenty of onsite parking spaces too. Lunch and refreshments will also be provided.
“I would like to thank you for suggesting the visit to Windles. I was blown away by the staff professionalism, generosity(the food, free cards and also tips and tricks), the quality of machines and their dedication to recycling and the environment. It was the real Willy Wonka Factory”
