The GCA have been working with Winston’s Wish, a charity supporting bereaved children, to produce a set of guidelines for designers and publishers looking to design cards for these children.
Following news of this project in January 2024 several GCA members stepped forward to get involved. A series of discussions followed, and in August 2024 the GCA and Winston’s Wish held a workshop where we discussed the images and messaging needed on such cards.
Several publishers and some retailers have already picked up on this and cards are being developed for the 2025 which is great news! We now need to keep spreading the work to retailers and also inform card consumers. We recommend using signage at retail to highlight these cards.
