Festive Friday 2024

Jun 28, 2024 | GCA Events

Festive Friday 2024 is on the 29th of November. This is the date when everyone in the greeting card industry posts their Christmas cards!

Our #Cardmitment campaign reminds everyone about the joy of sending and receiving cards, and continuing to enjoy them as part of the seasonal decorations in their homes! We’re also encouraging everyone to ‘buy and send their Christmas cards early’.

We in the card industry need to lead by example – we’re asking everyone to write their cards in November, and also to work within their community to have cards ready to post by 2nd December to start that first wave of card sending! Maybe use our Caring at Christmas toolkit to donate cards to your local Care Home – and let Adriana know as we’re aiming to cover the country!

Our #Cardmitment campaign will reach the media and a wide range of influencers to spread the word among card lovers in general – with no strikes and the need for a feel-good factor, we are encouraging people to connect with loved ones through cards this Christmas.

See how to get involved below. Also the GCA’s toolkit, which includes banners, posters, leaflets social media logos, is available to download below!

What is Festive Friday?

Festive Friday is the day when everyone in the greeting card industry, and card lovers everywhere, send their Christmas cards. Receiving Christmas cards reminds people to send theirs; so Festive Friday starts the annual exchange of Christmas cards!

Greeting cards are amazing little things.
Make your #cardmitment and join our campaign,
and send your Christmas cards now to start
a wave of card sending!

How to get involved!

Festive Friday kicks off the Christmas season, see what happened in 2020, and 2021 for ideas on how to get involved.

Encourage your business, school or local community to take part in creating this first wave of Christmas card sending and help to generate a Christmas card-sending mood – maybe organise a #Cardmitment or Festive Friday event at work, or local charity or school? Encourage people to get together for an hour or two to write their Christmas cards, perhaps provide the cards and postage and send them all out on the day.

Tell us what you’re doing so that we can share it on social media and the trade!

Remember the more cards people receive the more they send! So join in with the first wave of Christmas card sending.
