Festive Friday is the day when everyone in the card industry, and card lovers everywhere, sends their Christmas cards!
This year the date is 26th November 2021.
Receiving Christmas cards reminds people to send theirs, so Festive Friday starts the annual exchange of Christmas cards.
Take part in creating this first wave of Christmas card sending, and help to generate a Christmas card-sending mood!
Maybe organise a Festive Friday event at work, or local charity or school. Encourage people to get together for an hour or two to write their Christmas cards, perhaps provide the cards and postage and send them all out on the day.
Last year publisher Emma Bryan teamed up with her local care home, lots of members shared activity on social media, with consumer media activity also starting for Christmas 2020.
This year plans are already coming together with Royal Mail confirming support and other GCA members sharing their plans.
For example the Hyve team are working with some Spring Fair exhibitors to arrange the donation cards to their charity, The Retail Trust, and then will be joining residents to write the cards on Festive Friday. GCA retail member, Austin & Co in Great Malvern, is using the Thinking of You Week signage and sentiment, encouraging customers to write their spare Christmas cards to someone they don’t know. “We are working with local charities, such as Age Concern and Community Action Trust” said owner Sean Austin. “It’s all about…getting..Christmas card[s]…out to as many people as we can; sending a Christmas card, delivering a smile”
Use our toolkit, kindly designed by Woodmansterne, below to publicise your event.
