This year is the Greeting Card Association’s centenary, and with the British love of greeting cards continuing we have a lot to celebrate: In 2019 cards are being send for more occasions than ever before, 18-34 year olds sending more cards than a generation ago, and GCA membership is at its highest point at any time since 1919 .  We are starting our celebrations by launching our new logo. 

The new updated logo is just the start, we are working on a whole programme of initiatives and activities that we will be sharing in the coming weeks and months – and we will be encouraging publishers, retailers and suppliers to embrace the opportunity to get involved in celebrating our wonderful industry’s ongoing evolution.

Being a pre-eminent creative industry, the GCA Council felt it was important that we update our 20 year-old branding, while retaining the heritage and linking to our existing logo. The new logo was arrived at following a design brief being issued to all Council members’ teams. The Council members then voted on the 30+ submissions, and our new logo was a clear winning, received an overwhelming number of the votes.

The new livery remains largely true to the colours of GCA’s existing logo, and the association’s three letters are depicted in a contemporary lower case font format.

While for the duration of this year, the logo will feature wording that acknowledges the GCA’s centenary, from the start of 2020 this will be replaced with a more generic tagline. GCA Members can download the GCA logo here in the GCA Library.
