Nick Carey

Nick joined Abacus in 2012 and has now worked in the greeting card industry for over 10 years. Following nearly 15 years in the retail motor industry and a short spell in bank finance after completing a Financial Services degree at UWE Bristol.

In his early career with major UK PLC’s retailing luxury motor vehicles Nick was trained on aspects of delivery, finance & customer service. Qualities that could be readily transferred to Abacus and their customer base. Abacus is now a second-generation Suffolk family business having started in 1991 by its founders Jeff Fothergill and Brian Carey.

‘This is an important and great industry, I feel that I have the energy to give some of my passion, knowledge, and experience back to the card industry for its growth and longevity. All publishers’ customers send out thousands of messages of love each day through greetings cards, touching the hearts of millions. It’s a bit of a miracle really and needs protecting’.
